Symptoms:
Symptoms of overdose after submucosal injection of Oily Painalay (Oromucosal) are unknown, but are likely to be similar to the symptoms seen in other preparations after excessive exposure to Painalay (Oromucosal). The absorption of Painalay (Oromucosal) after using diluted Painalay (Oromucosal) solutions on extensive wounds has abdominal pain, dizziness, methaemoglobinemia, hemoglobinurea, cyanosis, irregular heartbeat, ECG abnormalities and can lead to respiratory failure, circulatory failure, coma and death.
Treatment: there is no specific antidote for actute painalay (omucosal) overdose. Treatment of an overdose is symptomatic and supportive. If the product has been swallowed, empty the stomach with aspiration and lavage, being careful to avoid perforation before doing the above procedure.
Oily Painalay (Oromucosal) injection, BP is contraindicated in patients who are hypersensitive to Painalay (Oromucosal), nuts and especially almond oil or a component of the product. It should not be used over large areas because sufficient amounts can be absorbed to lead to toxic symptoms. Oily Painalay (Oromucosal) injection, BP is also contraindicated in newborns and children.
