WHAT CARIBAN IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR

This medicine belongs to the group of so-called antiemetics and antinauseous and is indicated for the symptomatic treatment of nausea and vomiting in pregnancy in adults.

POSSIBLE ADVERSAL EFFECTS

Like all medicines, Cariban can cause side effects, although not everyone gets them.

 

Cariban's adverse effects are generally mild and transient, being more frequent in the first days of treatment.

 

Common side effects (may affect 1 in 10 people) : drowsiness and effects such as dry mouth, constipation, blurred vision, urinary retention, or increased bronchial discharge.

 

Uncommon side effects (may affect 1 in 100 people) : asthenia (tiredness), peripheral edema (inflammation of the arms and legs), nausea, vomiting, diarrhea, skin rash, tinnitus (noise in the ears), orthostatic hypotension (decreased blood pressure due to changes in posture), diplopia (double vision), glaucoma, confusion, or photosensitivity reactions.

 

Rare side effects (may affect up to 1 in 1,000 people): agitation, tremor, seizures, or blood problems such as hemolytic anemia.

 

Other adverse effects of unknown frequency (their frequency cannot be estimated from the available data) : tachycardia (heart rhythm (heartbeat) faster), vertigo, or dyspnea.

Dosage (Posology) and method of administration

HOW TO TAKE CARIBAN

Follow exactly the administration instructions for this medicine indicated by your doctor. If in doubt, consult your doctor again.

 

The recommended dose is 2 capsules at bedtime if nausea and vomiting occur in the morning. If this dose allows you to control symptoms, continue taking two capsules. If you feel nauseous during the day, take 1 capsule in the morning and another in the afternoon.

 

The maximum daily dose is 4 capsules (one in the morning, one in the afternoon and two at bedtime).

 

The capsules should be ingested whole, without chewing and on an empty stomach, with a sufficient amount of liquid, preferably water.

 

 

Use in teenagers

Safety and efficacy in children under 18 years of age have not been established.

 

 

If you take more Cariban than you should

If you have taken more Cariban than you should, immediately consult your doctor or pharmacist.

 

A possible poisoning would be recognized by neurological disorders such as agitation, hallucinations or intermittent seizures, and in extreme cases it could lead to decreased vital activity and coma. If any of these symptoms occur, appropriate treatment will be instituted.

If you forgot to take Cariban :

If you forget a shot of Cariban, this should be taken as soon as possible. However, if it is almost time for the next dose, the missed dose should be skipped and the normal dosage continued. Do not take a double dose to make up for a forgotten dose.
