To clotrimazole sensitive dermatophytes, yeast-like fungi (genus Candida, Torulopsis glabrata, Rhodotorula), mold fungi, as well as the causative agent of multi-colored lichen Pityriasis versicolor and the causative agent of erythrasma.

It has a wide spectrum of action. Active against dermatophytes, yeast fungi of the genus Candida, Corynebacterium minutissimum, Staphylococcus spp., Streptococcus spp., Trichomonas.
When applied topically, clotrimazole adsorption from the mucous membranes is negligible.
