Contraindications

Contraindications for Vitamin B1 (Nervobion)

Hypersensitivity to vitamin B1 or any component of a product containing vitamin B1.

Undesirable effects

Applies to multivitamin with iron: tablets

Check with your doctor if any of these most COMMON side effects persist or become bothersome:

Constipation; dark or green stools; mild diarrhea; nausea; stomach pain; vomiting.

Seek medical attention right away if any of these SEVERE side effects occur while taking multivitamin with iron (the active ingredient contained in Nervobion)

Severe allergic reactions (rash; hives; itching; difficulty breathing; tightness in the chest; swelling of the mouth, face, lips, or tongue); black, tarry stools; numbness or tingling of the skin; severe or persistent stomach pain or cramping.

Therapeutic indications

An indication is a term used for the list of condition or symptom or illness for which the medicine is prescribed or used by the patient. For example, acetaminophen or paracetamol is used for fever by the patient, or the doctor prescribes it for a headache or body pains. Now fever, headache and body pains are the indications of paracetamol. A patient should be aware of the indications of medications used for common conditions because they can be taken over the counter in the pharmacy meaning without prescription by the Physician.

Mono- & polyneuropathies eg diabetic, alcoholic or toxic neuropathies. Neuritis & neuralgia esp cervical syndrome, shoulder-arm syndrome, lumbago, sciatica, root irritation due to degenerative changes of the vertebral column, herpes zoster. Follow-up treatment of trigeminal neuralgia; supportive treatment in facial paresis. Deficiency or raised requirement of vit B1, B6

Qualitative and quantitative composition

Each tablet contains Thiamine (Nervobion) hydrochloride (B1) 100 mg, Pyridoxine (Nervobion) hydrochloride (B6) 200 mg and Cyanocobalamin (Nervobion) (B12) 200 mcg.

Each ampoule contains Thiamine (Nervobion) hydrochloride (B1) 100 mg, Pyridoxine (Nervobion) hydrochloride (B6) 100 mg and Cyanocobalamin (Nervobion) (B12) 1000 mcg.

Dosage (Posology) and method of administration

Tablet: Usual recommended daily dosage is 1 tab 3 times a day or as per doctor's advise.

For treatment during pregnancy, 1 tab daily is recommended.

Injection: In severe cases, 1 amp a day by IM injection, at best by slow intragluteal, until the disappearance of the acute symptoms. In milder cases and for follow-up treatment, 1 amp 2-3 times weekly. Because the possibility of sensitization against vitamin B1, IV injection of Nervobion should be made cautiously and slowly, preferably in the form of infusion.

Loop Diuretics,

Oral Contraceptives, Stavudine, Tricyclic Antidepressants
