Contraindications

Hypersensitivity, open wounds, skin irritation, children under 12 years of age (for sports balsam and ointment), pregnancy.

Undesirable effects

Skin irritation, allergic reactions: urticaria, erythema.

Therapeutic indications

Joint and muscle pain, including inflammation, joint stiffness, pain in the lumbosacral spine caused by stretching, intensive sports and physical training (sports balm).

  • NSAIDs-Salicylic acid derivatives in combinations
  • Local irritant agents in combinations

Pharmacodynamic properties

Causes a feeling of warmth (menthol). Due to the warming effect, it reduces tension, spasm, pain, increases blood flow and facilitates the removal of irritating substances (lactic acid), increases the volume of movements. The effects are manifested in the underlying organs — joints, muscles, tendons, and some internal organs. Methyl salicylate, absorbed through the skin, is able to reduce pain.

Special precautions for storage

At a temperature not exceeding 25 °C.

Keep out of reach of children.

menthol 0.1 g
excipients: stearic acid, glycerin monostearate, polysorbate 85, sorbitan tristearate, trollamine, purified water  

in tubes of 35 g, in a box of 1 tube.

Cream (sports balm) 1 g
methyl salicylate 0.28 g
menthol 0.1 g
excipients: glycerin monostearate, lanolin, polysorbate 85, purified water, sorbitan tristearate, stearic acid, xanthan gum, potassium hydroxide  

in tubes of 35 g, in a box of 1 tube.

Dosage (Posology) and method of administration

Locally. Ben Is Gay: a large amount of cream is rubbed into painful areas of the skin. The cream is quickly absorbed through the skin. If necessary, the procedure is repeated after a few hours (up to 3-4 times a day).

Ben-Gay Sports Balm: a large amount of balsam is rubbed into the muscles. If necessary, the procedure is repeated up to 3-4 times a day.
