Contraindications

AV block of the II and III degree, sinus insufficiency syndrome (except for patients with an artificial pacemaker).

Incompatibilities

Dipyridamole enhances the effect, theophylline, caffeine, and other xanthines weaken it.

Undesirable effects

Dizziness, phobia, blurred vision, headache, heart pain, tachycardia, bradycardia, AV block of various degrees, nausea, hyperventilation, bronchospasm, hot flashes, increased sweating, pain in the arms, back and neck, metallic taste.

Therapeutic indications

Paroxysmal supraventricular tachyarrhythmia (including in WPW-syndrome), differential diagnosis of supraventricular tachyarrhythmias (tachycardia with broadened QRS complexes), diagnostic electrophysiological studies (determination of the localization of the AV block).
