Overdose

Symptoms : psychomotor arousal, irritability, drowsiness, urination delay, tremor, tachycardia, itching, rash.

Treatment: gastric lavage, activated carbon, laxatives, symptomatic therapy.

Contraindications

Hypersensitivity to the components of the drug and to hydroxysine.

Incompatibilities

Theophylline reduces Cl and increases the plasma concentration of the drug.

Undesirable effects

From the cardiovascular system and blood (blood-breeding, hemostasis) : hemolytic anemia, thrombocytopenia.

From the side of the LCD : nausea, vomiting, abdominal pain, diarrhea, constipation, increased appetite, transient increase in liver transaminase activity.

From the side of the nervous system and the senses : drowsiness, a sense of fatigue, weakness, dizziness, headache, dry mouth.

Pharmacodynamic properties

The action manifests itself after 20 minutes, reaches a maximum after 1 h and continues for 24 hours.

Pharmacokinetic properties

Quickly absorbed from the LCD (70%), Cmax achieved after 1 h. It is slightly metabolized in the liver, excreted with urine mainly unchanged.

Fertility, pregnancy and lactation

It should not be taken in the I trimester of pregnancy, in II-III it is possible by strict indications. Breastfeeding should be stopped during treatment.
