Contraindications

Incompatibilities

CYP3A4 inhibitors increase the effect unpredictably. The likelihood of adverse events increases antiarrhythmics (classes IA and III), tricyclic antidepressants (amitriptyline) and tetracyclic (maprotiline), antipsychotics (phenothiazines, pimozid, sertindol) and antihistamines (astemizole, terfenadine).

Undesirable effects

Abdominal pain, transient, intestinal spasms, rumbling, diarrhea, headache, dizziness, arrhythmia, including ventricular tachycardia, ventricular fibrillation, torsades de points, lengthening of QT, liver disorders, pollakiuria (when applied in high doses), allergic reactions (itching, rash, urticaria, bronchospasm).

Therapeutic indications

Gastric and intestinal paresis, gastric dyspepsia, reflux esophagitis, chronic constipation, regurgitation in newborns.

Pharmacodynamic properties
