Undesirable effects
A medicine is only made available to the public if the clinical trials have shown that the benefits of taking the medicine outweigh the risks.
Once a medicine has been licensed, information on the medicine’s effects, both intended and unintended, is continuously recorded and updated.
Some side-effects may be serious while others may only be a mild inconvenience.
Everyone’s reaction to a medicine is different. It is difficult to predict which side-effects you will have from taking a particular medicine, or whether you will have any side-effects at all. The important thing is to tell your prescriber or pharmacist if you are having problems with your medicine.
The frequency of these side-effects is unknown:
abnormal laboratory test results.
biliary problems.
blood and bone marrow problems.
feeling dizzy.
feelings of fullness in the stomach.
gallstones.
hair loss.
headaches.
hypersensitivity reactions.
impotence.
itching.
kidney problems.
loss of appetite.
muscle problems - you must seek medical advice immediately if you get muscle cramps, pain, tenderness or weakness.
nausea.
photosensitivity skin reaction.
unexplained or easy bruising of the skin or mucous membranes.
urticaria.
Therapeutic indications
An indication is a term used for the list of condition or symptom or illness for which the medicine is prescribed or used by the patient. For example, acetaminophen or paracetamol is used for fever by the patient, or the doctor prescribes it for a headache or body pains. Now fever, headache and body pains are the indications of paracetamol. A patient should be aware of the indications of medications used for common conditions because they can be taken over the counter in the pharmacy meaning without prescription by the Physician.

Special warnings and precautions for use
There are specific as well as general uses of a drug or medicine. A medicine can be used to prevent a disease, treat a disease over a period or cure a disease. It can also be used to treat the particular symptom of the disease. The drug use depends on the form the patient takes it. It may be more useful in injection form or sometimes in tablet form. The drug can be used for a single troubling symptom or a life-threatening condition. While some medications can be stopped after few days, some drugs need to be continued for prolonged period to get the benefit from it.
Bionolip is used to lower high level of fats (lipids) in the blood especially triglycerides and very-low-density lipoprotein (VLDL) along with a low fat diet, weight loss and exercise.

Interaction with other medicinal products and other forms of interaction
When Bezalip or Bionolip is used at the same time as other medicines or substances the following interactions must be taken into account:
- Bezalip and Bionolip may enhance the action of anticoagulants of the coumarin type. For this reason, the dose of the anticoagulant should be reduced by 30 - 50% at the start of treatment with Bezalip or Bionolip and then titrated according to the blood clotting parameters.
- The action of sulphonylureas and insulin may be enhanced by Bezalip or Bionolip. This may be due to an improved glucose utilization with simultaneous reduction in insulin requirement.
- In isolated cases, a pronounced though reversible, impairment of renal function (accompanied by a corresponding increase in the serum creatinine level) has been reported in organ transplant patients receiving immuno-suppressant therapy and concomitant Bionolip. Accordingly, renal function should be closely monitored in these patients and, in the event of relevant significant changes in laboratory parameters, Bionolip should, if necessary, be discontinued.
- When Bezalip or Bionolip is used concurrently with anion-exchange resins (e.g. cholestryramine), an interval of at least 2 hours should be maintained between the two medicines, since the absorption of Bezalip or Bionolip is impaired.
- Perhexiline hydrogen maleate or MAO-inhibitors (with hepatotoxic potential) must not be administered together with Bezalip or Bionolip.
