WHAT ARTINIBSA IS AND WHAT IT IS USED FOR
ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml is a local anesthetic drug used to produce local anesthesia in dentistry in both adults and children from 4 years of age. It contains the active substances articaine (local anesthetic) and epinephrine (adrenaline). Epinephrine narrows blood vessels. As a result, the blood supply at the place where the doctor injections the needle decreases (local anemia). This reduces bleeding during treatments and increases the effect of local anesthesia.
ARTINIBSA is especially indicated during minor procedures.
HOW TO TAKE ARTINIBSA
Your dentist will determine the dose and method of administration of ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml. To do this, you will be guided, in general, by the following recommendations:

Posology
Use in adults
For simple tooth extractions the normal dose is 1 cartridge of ARTINIBSA 40 mg / ml 0.005 mg / ml per tooth piece. If successive extractions of neighboring teeth are to be made, it is possible to decrease the volume of the injection.
If it is necessary to make a cut in the palate, an injection of 0.1 ml is applied to it for each puncture.
For extractions of premolars in the lower jaw, the normal dose is 1 cartridge of ARTINIBSA 40 mg / ml, 0.005 mg / ml for infiltration anesthesia (administration of anesthesia at the precise site where the intervention is to be performed) per tooth piece. Sometimes a second injection of 1 to 1.8 ml is necessary. In rare cases, an injection into the mandibular foramen (the hole in the jaw through which the nerve passes) may be indicated.
Nerve block anesthesia (administration of anesthesia around the nerve that affects the tooth to be removed) should be used in the treatment of molars of the lower jaw.
For preparations of the cavity and pulp of the crown of the tooth are used vestibular injections (through the gum) from 0.5 to 1.8 ml of ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg/ml. In surgical operations ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml should be dosed individually depending on the type of intervention, its duration and the characteristics of each patient.
In healthy adults the maximum dose is 7 mg / kg body weight of articaine (500 mg for a 70 kg patient) equivalent to 12.5 ml of ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg/ml. The maximum dose is 0.175 ml of solution per kg of weight.
Use in elderly patients and in weak patients, with impaired liver or kidney function, angina or arteriosclerosis
Due to the slower nature of your metabolism, an accumulation of ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg/ml may occur in your blood, especially if more than one injection is required. Therefore, in all such cases the lowest possible dose should be used that achieves a deep anesthetic effect.
Use in children
In children between 20 and 30 Kg of weight the normal dose is 0.25 to 1 ml. Children between 30 and 45 Kg of weight need from 0.5 to 2 ml.
The maximum dose in children should be determined by the age and weight of the child and the magnitude of the operation. It should not exceed the equivalent of 7 mg of articaine (0.175 ml of ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg/ml) per kg body weight.
ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml should not be used in children under 4 years of age.
Method of administration
ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml has been developed for administration into the oral cavity (dental use).
In order to prevent infection (e.g. transmission of hepatitis), new, sterile syringes should be used for each injection.
For single use only. Any remaining unused solution should be discarded.
This medicinal product should not be used if it has a cloudy appearance or a change in colour.
If you receive more ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg / ml than you should
An overdose of ARTINIBSA 40 mg / ml 0.005 mg / ml could develop the following symptoms:
Minor symptoms: metallic taste, tinnitus( ringing in the ears), dizziness, nausea, vomiting, restlessness, anxiety and acceleration of the frequency of breathing. More serious symptoms: drowsiness( feeling sleepy), confusion, tremor, muscle contractions, tonic-clonic seizures (seizures), coma and severe breathing difficulties.
Symptoms of severe effect on the heart: lowering blood pressure,
decreased heart rhythm (of the beats) and stop of the heart.
Minor symptoms: feeling hot, sweating and migraine-like headache (migraine). Symptoms of severe effect on the heart: increased blood pressure, acceleration of the rhythm of the heart( of the beats), chest pain and cardiac arrest.
If you experience any of these symptoms, immediately or shortly after you have been given ARTINIBSA 40 mg/ml 0.005 mg/ml, tell your dentist immediately.
